About_.

( I ) SETTING
The Banished Ruins are located deep within the Smoldered Woodlands, a sprawling, twisted forest where the air is thick with decomposition and death, the ground rotting beneath your feet. The soil here is cursed, perpetually in a state of rot, causing the flora to wilt and mutate into spiraling, jagged bramble. Enormous, gnarled trees rise from the soil, their bark cracked, jagged, and oozing with poisonous sap. The Ruins of the palace and surrounding city are ancient, crumbling remnants of a forgotten civilization, overrun with fungi and crawling with nightmarish undead beasts twisted by the soil’s decay. What little light penetrates the forest's thick canopy is dim, casting a perpetual moonlight over the land. The sun is never fully seen, creating a setting that’s rarely touched by natural light. There are patches of clearings where the sun does shine, and the soil has not infected, allowing some healthy crops to be grown, and for many to find shelter and safety from the woodland beasts.

( II ) THEME
The Banished Ruins symbolize death, decay, and the inevitable decline of all things. The forest represents the destructive force of time and grief, and those who live within the kingdom must survive amidst rot and ruin. Luciel, though a ruler of decay, seeks to maintain a balance between destruction and rebirth. The beasts of the woods, many of them former humans or creatures transformed by the decay, reflect the horrors of uncontrolled rot. However, there is also a strange beauty in the resilience of life that clings to the edges of destruction, as well as the idea of life after death, and giving back to the soils.

( III ) LORE
Vidar, the God of Decay, was a god of endings and rebirth, ruling over the natural cycle of life where death feeds new life. However, after the Fracture, the better morals of his existence was forgotten. Luciel rules the Banished Ruins with a somber wisdom, understanding that decay is inevitable but also necessary for growth. He sees himself as a guardian of the natural order, allowing things to fall apart so that they may be rebuilt anew. The Banished Ruins serve as a sanctuary for the outcasts and the unwanted, those who have been tainted or transformed by the decay that permeates the land. Unlike his brother Lionel, Luciel does not seek to hide the truth of his power; instead, he embraces the reality of rot, decay, and death, offering his people an honest existence, but an existence they learn to live through together and make the most out of. Out of all the Pierced Souls, Luciel is the most passionate about ensuring the protection and happiness of his kingdom (despite his crankiness, we love him for that though).

About_.

( I ) SETTING
Lionel rules over the Luminous Capital of Eden is a grand, towering city filled with lavish marble structures that reflect and amplify the light of the sun in various colors and hues. The streets are adorned with shimmering gold and opal filigree, and radiant statues of minor gods and saints of Inara stand watch over the Capital. The palace, known as Elysium’s Crown, sits at the highest peak to “bask in eternal sunlight”, casting long, colorful beams passed through crystals that stretch across the kingdom. However, beneath the deceiving vield of the glowing surface lies a festering corruption, masked by the blinding “glory” of the kingdom’s forced perfection.

( II ) THEME
Light represents a facade of purity, holiness, and light, but beneath its gleaming surface, the kingdom is a den of manipulation, lies, and moral rot. The constant light symbolizes both the tyranny of forced purity and the blindness it creates to the truth hidden behind itself. Citizens are indoctrinated to worship the light, believing it cleanses all sin, yet Lionel’s rule embodies the hypocrisy of this belief. He uses the guise of “pure divination” to control and manipulate those beneath him. Stinky stinky man.

( III ) LORE
Inara, the Goddess of Light, was once a symbol of purity and truth, embodying the power of the sun to banish darkness and bring clarity to the evils that rotted the surface mortals. However, her shattering during the Age of Desolation splintered her soul, and Lionel, infused with her shard, has twisted her divine purpose to his own ends. Though he is the Pierced Soul of Light, Lionel embodies the corruption that unchecked power brings. His ability to manipulate and control the perceptions of his people allows him to maintain an iron grip over the people of Eden, representing himself as the beacon of righteousness, and hiding his truly cunning and sadistic nature. The people of Eden are blinded by their devotion to Lionel, unable to see the corruption lurking beneath the endless daylight. Eden is like the melting pot of the 5 Golden Kingdoms- the most “cliche” of the Kingdoms, focusing on religion and power, harboring the most guilds, mercenaries, and military personnel of all the kingdoms. Note: Lionel thinks he’s the most powerful due to his numbers. He is not.

About_.

( I ) SETTING
Penumbra rules over the Veil of Seraphis, a floating kingdom built among the clouds and drifting islands. The realm is perpetually shrouded in mist, and the air is dense with a mystical energy that enables flight and sustains the kingdom- many of its flightless inhabitants have man-made alternatives that aid in flying and gliding, such as capes, wings, gliders, ect. The architecture is composed of rustic wooden structures build into the trees that grow from it’s lush floating islands.

( II ) THEME
Ether represents freedom, movement, and the intangible. The kingdom is one of beauty and mystery, but also danger, as the constant storms and shifting winds can make it deadly to travel for outsiders who aren’t adequately prepared or are alone. Ether focuses not so much on the ability to create, but the feeling it gives you. This is mostly represented by the feeling of inspiration, but can also harbor grief, despair, horror, anxiety, ect.

( III ) LORE
The Kingdom of Ether serves as a crossroads between many kingdoms, despite the dangers of traveling it’s currents alone. There has been laws put in place in regards to traveling the currents for this reason. Penumbra, as The Wraith, is known to be distant and elusive, tending to be much quieter than her more open and charismatic siblings. She is said to be able to commune with the spirits of the fallen and wield the power of inspiration and illusion, allowing her to aid those in the art of creation. She has been under the crown for 50 years, and despite being the youngest “Pierced Soul” as of current, she is often seen as the most mature and collected. They handle the production of natural energy.

About_.

( I ) SETTING
Kaelik rules over the Celestial Abyss, a kingdom suspended within a pocket of the ocean. The landscape is dotted with “floating" islands, each tethered to the cosmic tides by shimmering chains of stars and illumination. The waters are not only a deep blue, but contain a vast, glittering expanse of stars, nebulae, and swirling galaxies. The capital, Astralis Spire, is a tall, spiraling tower that reaches toward the heavens, where Kaelik resides. The kingdom is a place of study and knowlege, where stargazers and scholars come to seek wisdom and mystical education.

( II ) THEME
Cosmos represents the infinite possibilities of the universe, the mysteries of the stars, and the balance between creation and destruction. The kingdom is serene yet awe-inspiring, with the constant calls, wails, and chirps of large galactical sea creatures.

( III ) LORE
Kaelik is both revered and feared for her ability to call upon the Abyss Mother and wield the power of the stars. She is seen as an enigmatic ruler who possesses deep knowledge of the cosmos and sea, her connection to Nyxara granting her the ability to summon destructive cosmic forces when necessary. Legends say she can pull the very fabric of reality apart and reshape it, though that is only a rumor. Kaelik is the eldest of the five “Golden Shards”. They focus on education and the knowledge of magic.

About_.

( I ) SETTING
Aldric rules over the Sands of Valon, a vast, barren desert where time behaves unpredictably. Giant, crumbling ruins of ancient civilizations are scattered across the sand, slowly eroded by the ceaseless passage of time. In the heart of the desert lies Vespera Citadel, a massive fortress that stabilizes the flow of time in the kingdom. Inside, time is suspended, and Aldric rules over the sands tirelessly, oftentimes using his own ability to force himself to stay awake for longer periods of time.

( II ) THEME
Cronos represents the infinite march of time and the inability to escape fate. Vespera is a place where time bends, quickening or slowing unpredictably. It is rumored that those who stray too far into the desert become trapped in time loops or are aged to dust. Aldric feels guilty for any soul that falls to this fate, and works constantly to tame the sands.

( III ) LORE
The Kingdom of Vespera is the “working” kingdom, out of the five- it’s quite large in it’s industrialism and rivals the innovation of Seraphis. While Seraphis advances using natural materials, Vespera is much more technologically advanced. They handle the collection of oil, and the production of electrical energy.
